Properties to rent in St John's Wood, NW6

St John's Wood is an expensive residential area North of Baker street that attracts many rich and famous people (such as Kate Moss). It is a leafy, quiet and safe neighbourhood that features villa-style houses with large gardens. As such, rent tends to be much higher than average. It is worth mentioning though that St Johns Wood is located in the City of Westminster council that has the lowest council tax in London. This won't make up for the high rents but is definitely a small bonus saving.
St John's Wood is know as the home of the Abbey road studio where the Beatles recorded the Abbey road record that features the Beatles crossing the road. The Lord's cricket ground, south of the high street, also attracts a noisy crowd on a regular basis and you will find then the few pubs busy with supporters.
The St Johns Wood high street features trendy French fashion stores such as Zadig et Voltaire, Comptoirs des Cottoniers and Gerard Darel. You will also find several restaurants with outside terrace busy (Brasserie Gerard, Café rouge and many private owned restaurants). Regents Park is also just a few minutes walk from the high street. If you are looking for a safe neighbourhood with exclusive population, then St Johns Wood might be the right place for you.

St John's Wood reviews
Read what others have said about St John's Wood. St john's Wood is definitely a great area to live in. It is VERY close to the centre but still has a village feel. There is a small high street with a fairly good selection of "chic" stores (incl: Jospeh, Gerard Darel, The kooples, etc.) and quite a few good restaurants.
Regent's park is reachable within a 5/10 mins walk from the station.
Only caveat would be rent ... as you can see in the stats on this site. But if you can afford it, it is a safe, stylish and practical option to settle close to the centre of London !
