Swiss Cottage is a residential area north London, located in the borough of Camden. It is named after an inn build in early 19th century is the shape of a Swiss chalet and that was called the Swiss Cottage. The area is located Nort of Saint John’s Wood and south of West Hampstead. You are also just a few steps away from Primrose Hill and Regents Park through Adelaide road.
Swiss Cottage features lovely residential streets with detached houses, most of which have been split into flats. It is a great to settle if you want to be close to the city but still close enough to green areas. Rents are above London average but lower than many of the nearby areas of Primrose Hill or Saint John’s Wood.
Transportation up and from Swiss cottage is fairly good, however, the Jubilee line is often close for refurbishment over the weekend. Many buses are available and West Hampstead, St John’s Wood and Chalk Farm are a short bus ride away. Shopping wise, the closest supermarket is in Finchley road (Sainsbury) but you will find many convenience stores around the Swiss cottage tube station as well as an Odeon cinema and a large fitness club.
