Twickenham is a residential are in the suburbs of London, close to Richmond Upon Thames, on the banks of the Thames river. Twickenham is a great area for people who want to be fairly close to London but would like to be close to green areas. You can reach the Twickenham embankment through a narrow footbridge and you will find a few public houses and gardens as well as many private detached houses.
The Twickenham high street used to be old fashioned but plenty of new restaurants and shops have recently opened, including a Marks and Spencer. The amenities in Richmond, Kew Gardens and Kingston are also close by. The tube does not go as far as Twickenham but it has good transportation links with a rail service direct to Waterloo (20 minutes). Rent prices in Twickenham are lower than Richmond but you would partially benefit from a similar standard of life.
Twickenham is also renowned for its stadium and rugby union, which gather the highest number of members in the UK. When it is not occupied by rugby players, the stadium hosts different types of events (concerts and conventions).
